Management Team
Ute Rother is co-founder and CEO of Q-Sensei and the
driving force behind the Q-Sensei vision and overall business and product
strategy. For over 10 years, Ute has been developing services and
applications that help connect knowledge and information for business
advantage. In 2001, she co-founded and became Managing Director of
the German social knowledge network Lalisio. In 2007, she oversaw the
merger of Lalisio and US search specialist, QUASM to create Q-Sensei.
Prior to Q-Sensei and Lalisio, Ute was investment manager at German
venture capital group bmp AG and accumulated substantial expertise and
business contacts in the technology arena. She earned her Master's degree
in International Affairs from Ohio University in the US and a Master's
degree in Economics from the University of Trier in Germany.
Wolfram Kerber is co-founder and Q-Sensei's SVP of
Software Development. Wolfram has developed software programs for more
than 20 years, contributed and earned an exceptional reputation in the
open source community. Wolfram is the software architect of Q-Sensei's
award-winning search, discovery and analytics platform, which includes
the unique feature of ontology-driven data processing to increase time
to market in creating search-powered applications for strategic advantage.
He enjoys the idea of efficiently developing next-generation technologies
that truly help users to better find and understand information. Before
joining Q-Sensei, he co-founded Lalisio with Ute and studied Computer
Engineering and Physics at Humboldt University in Berlin.
Jason Simon is Q-Sensei's VP of Product Development.
He has broad experience in management and leadership roles and has
foundations in application and database development, including working
with large data and information systems across a variety of industries.
Prior to joining Q-Sensei, Jason led delivery management at Skookum
Digital Works. He was also a senior developer at a direct marketing
company specializing in analytics and data mining. Jason has a degree
in Management Information Systems from Ohio University.
Board
Rudy Mazzocchi is co-founder and Chairman of the
Board of Directors of Q-Sensei. He is also CEO of Elenza Corp.,
a company that is developing the world's first Electro-active
AutoFocal Intraocular Lens (IOL). As a founder of eight successful
enterprises, Rudy has acquired substantial experience in the
management and finance of leading technology firms. A recipient of
the 2005 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and holder of
more than 30 medical technology patents, Rudy has great interest in
finding new ways to access and manage large dynamic pools of
information and knowledge. He is convinced that Q-Sensei's vision
of information search will lead the way to even better informed
research and development.

Stephan Beier is Investment Manager at bm-t
beteiligungsmanagement Thüringen GmbH, the private equity and
venture capital arm of Thüringer Aufbaubank. He is an active
board member in several companies in the IT-Media-Internet industry.
He has worked in finance on both sides of the Atlantic, in the US
and Germany. "Based on my experience I know how important it is to
get the most relevant information to make best informed decisions,"
he stated. "I am very proud to support Q-Sensei in achieving its
vision to deliver innovative search-based applications for enterprises
and consumers."
Richard N. Nottenburg, PhD, is a distinguished
technology and telecommunications executive who has led a number
of innovative global public and private companies. Dr. Nottenburg,
former CEO of Sonus Networks and Chief Strategy officer of Motorola
Solutions, Inc., currently serves as a member of the board of
directors of Aeroflex Holding Corp. and PMC-Sierra, Inc. Dr.
Nottenburg authored more than 50 publications and presentations
and holds eight U.S. patents. He is an investor in Q-Sensei.
"The next frontier in technology will be harnessing the value of
Big Data and Q-Sensei's enterprise platform for search, discovery
and analytics applies to a variety of industries from communications
to healthcare and finance," he shared.
Hans-Jürgen Uffhaus is a co-founder of
Q-Sensei and a Senior Credit Analyst at the Landesbank
Hessen/Thüringen. Previously, he accumulated vast experience in
supporting entrepreneurships in a wealth of business sectors and
was a senior investment manager at two German VCs. Immediately
excited about the idea of better search access to information,
he lent his support to Q-Sensei early in the company's development.
Board Advisor
Steve Andrews is a strategic advisor and investor
focused on business transformation and growth in the Technology,
Media and Telecommunications (TMT) sector. He has over 25 years'
experience as an executive working in the TMT industry with both
corporations and young companies. He is Chairman of the global
"TelCo Futures Forum" and was formerly Group Managing Director
for BT plc's Fixed, Mobile and Internet Products. Some recent
consultancy and board advisory engagements include: Sonus Networks,
Microsoft (UK), Mi-Media LLC, Elinia and aap3. Since 2011, he has
been a Q-Sensei advisor and investor since 2011 supporting its
enterprise strategy to drive value from search, discovery and
analytics across a variety of sectors.
